And This Too Shall Pass
“WHEN TOMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME”
When tomorrow starts without me, and I’m not here to see,
if the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me.
I wish so much you wouldn’t cry the way you did to-day,
while thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say.
I know how much you love me, as much as I love you,
and each time you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too.
But when tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand,
that an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand.
And said my place was ready in heaven far above,
and that I’d have to leave behind all those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away, a tear fell from my eye,
for all my life I always thought I didn’t want to die.
I had so much to live for and so much left to do,
it seemed almost impossible that I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones and the bad,
I thought of all of the love we shared and all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday, I thought just for a while,
I’d say goodbye and kiss you and maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized that this could never be,
for emptiness and memories would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things that I’d miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did my heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven’s gates, I felt so much at home,
when God looked down and smiled at me, from his great golden throne.
He said” This is eternity and all I’ve promised you.
Today your life on earth is past, but here it starts anew.
I promise no more tomorrows, but today will always last,
and since each day’s the same day, there’s no longing for the past.
But you have been forgiven and now at last you’re free,
so won’t you take my hand and share your life with me?
So when tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart.
For every time you think of me,
I'm right here in your heart.

Passed on to us from the Hearn Family
And now,
lets celebrate Matthews various
and diverse
contributions to all our lives.
Here was a man that was the last Child brought into this world from a Beautiful Awe-inspiring
Mother that also lost her first Child.
Mom's husband Frederic was also a tragic
violent loss in June of 1971.

How does one deal with the loss of a Father, Mother, Brother,
Sister, a Daughter, Son or any other loved one? If we knew that
answer it would be a great help to many people. Fate does deal us a heavy hand
at times. We know that our loved ones are in a better place yet, why do we feel
so empty and numbed to our very bones? When family members or even close friends touch your heart
every day with their
personal and most inner feelings it is not easy to let go. The more you share with
others the more they hurt with you and you with them. Matthew opened up and
shared not only his thoughts but all of himself with everyone he met. From his
TAE KWON-DO students to the city of St. Catharines workers and all the Western
Hill boys (& girls) he was Matt, the bigger than life man that was a problem
solver. For the youngest runt of the family he had to grow up fast in
the Hill. His bigger and older brothers paved a way for Matt to follow and
follow he did but he had to work harder at it because he was the smallest. Well,
work at it he did, and he was the best. Going to Korea to get his black belts
was the only way for Matt. (
Black,
the opposite of white, signifying maturity and proficiency in Tae Kwon-Do. It indicates the wearer's imperviousness to darkness and fear.)
He wanted to be true to his discipline and what he
learned in his lifetime he shared with everyone that would listen. When Matt
spoke to you, you most often listened or you could get a surprise that would
remind you not to forget what he was trying to teach you. We all know this June
/04 was the last lesson Matthew, be it the Martial Arts Master, Life's lessons
Guru, Neighborhood Mayor or Don of the Hill, wanted to pass on to us to
strengthen our own spirit.
Live on Brother

Matthew
met Anna and fell for her like he was side kicked at a Tae Kwon-Do
demonstration.
When their son Benjamin was born in 88 they had the family they longed for.
To be nourished by a Mother and Father such as Anna and Matthew is to know love and respect for yourself and all others.
